Ok, so I'm a couple of weeks late posting this blog. I'm finally on spring break and have some extra time to catch up on a few things. We celebrated Casey's 14th birthday recently. Every birthday that flies by is a reminder of how short life is. I savor each moment I spend with my kids, knowing that they will be adults and have families of their own someday. I read all the time and hear at school about friends whos kids are driving them crazy in the teenage years. Maybe it's yet to come, but I really have to call myself blessed to be the parent of teenagers that are loving and respectful.
Casey has a heart of gold, and he always has. I can count on plenty of hugs, kisses, and "I Love Yous" every day when I get home. When I think of "love" I think of Casey. He never makes me feel like the old, uncool mom. I am so excited to see what kind of a husband and father he will be someday.
We started the celebration with cake and presents on his actual birthday evening. Yes, that is the word "weirdo" on the side of the cake. We can't let the boy get a big head now can we?
Casey decided that for his birthday he would like to go rock climbing, so we decided to spend the weekend in the city sleeping in a hotel, shopping, eating out, and of course climbing walls.
The only time Charlie gets to sleep in the bed is in hotels, so he took advantage of the opportunity.
